Since 1860, the Ontinyent traditional Festival is hold every year during the last week of august. The town remembers, in a spirit of joy and festivity, the conquest of the village by Christians and the battles against Moors. The most important act is Moors and Christians Parade: Moors and Christian's troops march down the main streets in a Parade full of beauty, colour and the sound of trumpets and timbales. Moors and Christians Embassy is also a very popular act during the festive week in Ontinyent (recognised as National tourist interest).
